You know what isn't 'temporary?' The endless stream of dirty socks in my bathroom and empty food packets under the sofa—and don't even get me started on the hot guys who take over my living room every Sunday to watch sports.

    Emma Hart's books never cease to amaze me and this book followed suit and had me hooked from the very beginning. Shelby is a tad OCD when it comes to certain aspects of her life. She is struggling writer that knows to meet ends she need a roommate to pay rent/bills. When Shelby's best friend is about to be homeless she decides to take him in, expecting it to only last a few months. Jay is your typical male. He tends to leave things every where and this drives Shelby crazy. Jay runs one of his father's gym and tends to have many of the guys over to watch sports, which again drives Shelby crazy and also hinders her work. What happens when these best friends/roommates start to realize that their feelings have started to change? Will they risk the 20 plus years of friendship for true love? Emma has a way with words that keeps you fully invested in the book. These words also engross all types of emotion, from laughter, love to hate/upset at the characters. I can't wait to be sucked into another one of Emma's book.

    Oh my god I’m never disappointed with one of this authors stories. I’m still wiping my eyes from the laughter from this book. I love the whole best friends to lovers genre. Jay and Shelby have such a great friendship. There was nowhere else they could go but become romantically involved and oh my god what a ride it was. Throw is hysterical secondary characters and you have an awesome story with great world building. Only negative is i wish i could see more of their story but that would be me just being greedy. Awesome 5 star read!

    The Roommate Agreement by Emma Hart is a standalone friends to lovers romance that is a slow sarcastic burn right up until the lust explodes all over you, your kindle, and all over Shelby and Jay. The right blend of love, lust, sarcasm, crazy friends and even crazier family members that I thoroughly enjoy from a must read author. Shelby is quirky, introverted, a Big Bang Theory nerd, writer, wielder of the sword of sarcasm and penned her very own Roommate Agreement to try and keep her best friend Jay in line. What seemed like the correct choice at the time has turned into day after day of struggling with his random socks, slobbish mess, and smoking hot abs. Is it too late to make an amendment to the roommate agreement to outlaw lustful thoughts, looks and actions? Loved this. Emma's writing is like hanging out with an old friend that you see a few times a year. The comfort of knowing that person well with the added benefit of time between visits so that your stories are fresh and exciting. Enjoy!

    Oh Shelby, you are so wonderful. When Shelby agrees to let her best friend, Jay, move in when he loses his apartment, well, she never knew he was such a slob. She also never expected that Jay walking around shirtless would be such a distraction. She decides to create a roommate agreement so she can reclaim some of her sanctuary that is not only her home but also her workplace as a writer. It’s also her safe haven as an introvert. Jay can’t believe the rules on the roommate agreement and he decides to add a few of his own. These two have been best friends for 20 years, there is a natural flow when they are together since they know each other so well. Now that they live together, will feelings change? Is there a chance that these two friends will be lovers? Such a fun romance and yes, Shelby, he shouldn’t eat your Oreo’s!

    Another great read from Emma Hart!! It was funny, amusing, witty and more. Shelby and Jay are best friends who end up living together. They always say that friendships change once you live with a friend, and that is definitely the case with the two of them. While Shelby has always had a crush on Jay, through living together Jay ends up seeing Shelby in a different light and they both fight their feelings through putting together a roommate agreement in which they attempt to stop all the things that one does that causes the other to have more feelings. As the feelings increase and situations get more complicated, they end up not being able to fight their feelings and dip into the waters of dating. I love that Emma really provides a level of reality with the characters and the storyline while also adding a level of comedy into the romance. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters, Jay and Shelby’s respective best friends who were also already dating. I liked that Emma included bits of their story into this one as well because it gave some insight into the individual characters in addition to their group as a whole. Overall, another great Emma Hart read and can’t wait until the next one! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

    This book was awesome. It had me cracking up with the banter between Jay and Shelby, and wow, did they heat up the pages! There was very little drama, and it was just an overall fun, romantic comedy that you will love!!! I would definitely recommend it!

When she decides to write a contract of sorts, a roommate agreement, to make their lives easier will it have the results she was looking for? This is a hilarious friends to lovers romantic comedy from Emma Hart! I truly enjoyed this book and the bickering back and forth between Jay and Shelby was perfect! Told in dual POV; Grab this book now...oh, and a package of Oreos please!

    ***5 ‘The Oreos’ Stars*** If you love the whole friends to lovers trope you are going to absolutely love this one. It’s a fun, quirky and snarky read with unique characters that is low on the angst and fill with a lot of heart. Once I dove in, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next with Jay and Shelby and when everything was said and done, I was really happy, but really wanted there to be more words to read so I could see where the next stage of their journey would take them. I adored Jay and Shelby. Jay is a good guy who hasn’t fully stepped into the adulting realm, which I couldn’t totally understand. He’s laid back, funny and despite some of his short comings, a sweetheart and then there is Shelby. Shelby is...unique, and there is a part of me that wants to tell all, but she is someone you need to experience in all her quirky, unique and at times extreme glory. As for their friends to lovers journey. I honestly loved how everything played out with them. There was no doubt they were best friends, and I loved their interactions, they had me rolling my eyes and cracking up constantly, but I also got why they were both hesitant to “go there” with being more than. Their hang ups were real, but so was the fact that if they did take that next step that they’d be awesome together and they were. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them take those first steps and loved how everything worked out for them in the end. This really was a fun read filled with all the things that I’ve come to love about this author: quirky, but well written characters, humor, snark ~ sometimes OTT (though not so OTT in this one) ~ but always funny, and just the right amount of smexyness to make things heat up, while staying true to who the characters are. As for the supporting cast of characters, I loved Brie, Sean and both Jay and Shelby’s familys, but Gram definitely takes the cake. She was awesome!
